Portraits & Personalities: Dr Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965): Doctor of Medicine, philosopher and distinguished organist, Albert Schweitzer devoted his life to healing and preaching at his jungle hospital in Lamborene, Republic of Gabon. His work in Africa received world wide acclaim and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. He was an intensely private man. However, John Robert Young was one of the few photographers allowed to document his daily life.
