Portraits & Personalities: George Adamson naturalist together with his wife Joy - they separated later in life - were known internationally for their work with lions in Kenya. Together they wrote the book 'Born Free" which was later made into a film. They were both murdered by local tribesmen in their beloved Kenya, Joy in January 1980 and George in August 1989. He was 83 years old.
